Green Living Lab: Candle Making

Making candles is a great way to spruce up your home with a warm flame and mood-setting scents. It’s also an opportunity to creatively reuse many items that would otherwise be headed to your recycling bin or trash can. Empty salsa jars can become aromatic assets long before you decide to recycle them.

In this Green Living Lab, we’ll learn one of the many methods for creating scented soy wax candles in reused containers. We’ll also explore some ideas for decorating the jars, getting you well on your way to creating seasonal and Valentine's Day gifts and table-toppers that exhibit your postconsumer prowess.
